MARAIS SALANTS DE I’ÎLE DE RÉ
Since the Middle Ages, 1500 hectares of wetlands have been created on the northern part of Ré Island on land regained from the sea. The Salinas Ecomuseum provides the chance of discovering the Ré Island Salt Flats. After visiting the exhibition, a guide will use a model to explain how the salt flats work and then accompany visitors to the site.
