Aveiro Municipality
The town-hall of Aveiro is a public local government organization whose aim is to respond effectively to the new realities of city life. Thus its goal, as regulated by law, is to meet municipal public interests through standards of quality in services to achieve the sustainable development of the Aveiro municipality.
Made up of fourteen boroughs, the city of Aveiro occupies an area of 199km2 with a population of 76000 inhabitants. There is a vast range of services as well as other activities such as agriculture and industry, especially ceramics with a long heritage of ancient traditions. For the city, open for centuries to the Lagoon, the production of salt is one of its strongest images in addition to being an element of identity or differentiation.
